Device Registration

When your device first starts up, it needs to be linked to your Publish account. The registration screen displays a code that you enter on the Publish website.

What You'll See

The registration screen displays:

  • A QR code on the left side
  • A 6-character code in large text (letters and numbers)
  • Instructions for completing registration
  • A countdown timer showing when the code expires

How to Register

You have two options:

  1. Open your phone's camera
  2. Point it at the QR code on screen
  3. Tap the link that appears
  4. Select your store and device group
  5. Confirm registration

Option B: Enter the Code Manually

  1. Go to the Publish website and navigate to device registration
  2. Type the 6-character code shown on screen
  3. Select your store and device group
  4. Confirm registration

After Registration

Once you complete registration on the website:

  1. The device automatically detects the registration
  2. The screen changes to show "Downloading content..."
  3. Your media downloads and begins playing

No further action is needed on the device itself.

Code Expiration

Registration codes expire after a set time for security. The countdown timer on screen shows how long you have.

If the code expires:

  1. The screen automatically refreshes with a new code
  2. Use the new code to complete registration

Accessing Settings During Registration

While on the registration screen, you can access the Control Panel:

  1. Press OK on your remote
  2. Use Rotate Screen to adjust the display orientation
  3. Press Back to return to the registration screen

This is useful if your display is mounted in portrait orientation and needs rotation before registration.

Troubleshooting

Code Not Working

  • Verify you're entering the code exactly as shown (letters are case-insensitive)
  • Check if the code has expired and use the new one
  • Ensure the device has an internet connection

Registration Not Detected

If you completed registration on the website but the device doesn't respond:

  1. Wait up to 30 seconds for the device to detect the registration
  2. Check the device's internet connection
  3. If the problem persists, press OK to open Control Panel, then select Admin Panel to check network status

Error Message Appears

If an error banner appears on screen:

  • Note the reference ID shown (for support)
  • Tap or click the error to retry
  • Check your internet connection
