Notifications

Notifications keep you informed about important events in Publish - device status changes, content updates, and team activity.

Accessing Notifications

From Navigation Bar

A notification badge appears on your avatar when you have unread notifications:

  • Red dot indicates unread notifications
  • Click your avatar > Notifications

Navigate directly to /notifications

Notification List

The notifications page displays all your notifications:

  • Title - Brief description of the event
  • Message - Additional details
  • Time - When the notification was created (relative time)
  • Unread indicator - Dot icon for unread notifications
  • Link - Some notifications show "View details" and link to related content

Header Actions

At the top of the list:

  • Unread count (e.g., "3 unread notifications")
  • Mark all as read button (when you have unread notifications)
  • Refresh button to reload notifications

Time Display

  • Recent notifications show relative time: "Just now", "2m ago", "2h ago", "3d ago"
  • Older notifications show the date
  • Hover over the time to see the exact date and time

Marking as Read

  • Click a notification to mark it as read
  • Or click the checkmark icon on an unread notification
  • Use Mark all as read to clear all unread notifications at once

Loading More

Click Load more at the bottom to see older notifications.

Notification Types

Device Alerts

  • Device Offline - A device hasn't connected recently
  • Device Back Online - A previously offline device reconnected

Content Updates

  • Template Published - Content was published to device groups
  • Media Processing - Upload status for new media

Team Activity

  • Invitation Accepted - Someone joined your company
  • Role Changed - A team member's role was updated

System Notifications

  • Maintenance - Scheduled system maintenance
  • Updates - New features or changes

Notification Badge

The unread count appears in multiple places:

  • Avatar - Small red dot appears on your avatar when you have unread notifications
  • Notifications menu item - Shows the count (or "99+" if over 99)

The badge updates in real-time as new notifications arrive.

Configuring Notifications

Control which notifications you receive:

  1. Go to Settings > Notification Preferences
  2. Toggle notification types on/off
  3. Choose delivery method (in-app, email)

Real-time Updates

Notifications update automatically:

  • New notifications appear without refreshing
  • Badge counts update in real-time
  • No need to manually refresh the page

Permissions

All authenticated users can:

  • View their notifications
  • Mark notifications as read
  • Configure notification preferences
